Reading on here people often wish they were 17 / 18 / 19 again

When you were that age what did you get upto on a typical weekend

Apart from the usual socialising etc me and my mates were really into cars and just messing about with them

I remember taking a 106 diesel greenlaning with reasonable success, I then upgraded to a 106 gti and got it truly stuck

Driving a Capri so hard that it needed new new remoulds each weekend

Truly happy times

I was in the forces which is like being a student with money and world travel thrown in. I had no real bills, so I spent my money on beer and cars. Of a weekend I would go back to my home town, and drink/socialise and have sex with my girlfriend smile

Life was simple and fun.

Wake up, clean the car on the drive in prep for showing it off down southend sea front.

Drive around like a tool with mates.

Not much drinking when I discovered driving.

Much prefer being 27.

17 was filling my car up with girls and taking them to polzeath/constantine/<insert North Cornwall beach>/ surf board on top, picnic in the boot, in convoy with mates, and a day on the beach...when the weather was good.

Christ no. Was still living at home with parents, no money, crap car, not much success with girls, boring job.

I'll stick with where I am now thanks! biggrin

Earning £4-500/month spending it all then some more on a good time. That's a decent part time wage now 15 years ago was amazing now I think about it.

Sadly I pissed it all against wall, and flunked college.

At that age I was obviously being a bit of a tit.

Into Banger racing so hooning around town in cars I'd picked up that were headed for destruction.
Mk X Jags, Austin Westminsters, Mk 1 Granada etc.

Bit of boozing but living in town meant we walked. Never did drink & drive and living in a seaside resort when that kind of thing was popular, quite a bit of lady action biggrin

Ideal teenage years really.

In my day every one still lived at home at this age. Privacy was not reliably available to most of us.

I was at Uni, with a company cadetship. I worked the holidays for them, & this meant I had a bit more money than most students, & could run a car.

I had found a deep sandy swimming hole in a small creek running through an isolated part of a near city national park. I took a number of young ladies there for a picnic & a swim. Mostly city girls, some were terrified something large, was going to leap out of the woods & eat them, & did not like it.

Many were turned on by the first bit of total privacy they had experienced, & loved it.

I went back a few years ago when passing, but the bush has thickened, & I had to walk the last 3/4 mile to get in. I guess now only the occasional hiker can enjoy a moonlight swim at my little spot.
