Will my car do this(deep sticky mud)?

There is a 4x4 club here that does trips like the one above, mostly in very rugged and remote areas. I have thought about joining, but not sure my car is built for it. I have a Defender 110 with a 2 inch lift and 285/75 R16 Goodrich KM2 Mud Terrains, so slightly modified, but these guys seem to use highly modified rigs and give it max beans in deep sticky clay mud. This kind of mud plugs up the tread in my tyres so effectively I am driving on slicks.

Am I just being a wuss, or will I end up breaking the pride of Solihull - that doesn't need much encouragement to disassemble itself anyway.

Thoughts from experienced mud plugging peeps?

Your being a wuss.

That sort of stuff is the reason for owning a 4x4. You'll develop your own method for driving through mud, either stick to tracks already formed or drive on virgin mud but either way, you get thrown around and usually the vehicle will find it's own route through.

I spent a fortune modifying 4x4's but found bog standard ones preformed just as well with skinny mud terrain tyres on.

God that clay looks evil! I run pretty extreme tyres, and mine would clog too. However, keep momentum, keep them clearing themselves out, and have fun. Mines a V8 Disco, I wouldn't be affraid to use it there

Looks like fun! That clay stuff looks evil. To stand the best chance then extreme mud tyres like InsA turbo and limited slip diff's or lockers. All make sure you lock your centre diff otherwise it might melt!

If you do get stuck then but another set of wheels and tyres for these play days.
If jeeps are doing it then a Defender should have no trouble.

Land rover will be fine...

Engine is the land rover's weakness... it just doesn't have the grunt of it's rivals, but for the occasional splash in the mud it's fine.
