Hello , i was wondering if there's any fine sounding small speakers out and around at the moment.

I am not a big fan of Bose...only really because i want something less obvious. However if i have to go that route then so be it.

I shall be hooking them up to my dearly departed Grandfather's Bang an Olufsen stack system.

Have a look at the Neat Iota. As with many very small speakers can be a little light on bass, but make up for this by doing everything else extremely well - expansive soundstage, superb clarity, tight, well controlled bass and sparkly highs from the little ribbon tweeter. In fact as you're planning to wall mount this can extract a little more low end.

My wife loved them because her preference was the same as the OP's: "veeeery small speakers to wall mount".

As a 1-way design they can't be brilliant at everything though. I thought the mid was better than the treble. I was using them in what was effectively a 2.1 AV system as satellites with a REL Q400 sub and AV systems being inherently more about drama every now and again, I've moved to an MA Apex system that shifts more air with 3 A40s at the front and a pair of A10s for the rear.

I have full Gallo micro surround , and an a'diva for the centre . Had them for 5 years as they are great and unbelievably tiny. In fact I don't think I've seen a smaller speaker that is actually worth buying. Gets good subwoofer though as they are all about that treble , "that treble " . Sorry , poor song lyric joke .

I listened to some in Richer sounds and thought they sounded terrible. I don't consider myself to be that choosy, but every "great" small speaker I've listened to sounds crap.

I have some huge Kef floor standers speakers and a Yamaha amp at the moment and would like something smaller and less imposing.

Really? I was at his house watching a BluRay on Friday night and was blown away by it (until I move house I'm stuck with TV audio)

It sounded incredible to me, and when he showed me the size of the speakers I couldn't believe it!

I have some of these and they really are excellent little speakers. They do need a sub though.

If you want something even smaller there is always the R45. Have a chat with VEX on here.

I also didn't like the MINX that much either. The MA Radius range really are good though and I am very choosy.

They might sound better in a normal room. They didn't have them set up in their demo room, and I asked to hear them without the sub. They just sounded very odd. When you're paying that sort of money then they should be as good as a similar priced bookshelf speaker.

I ended up buying a cheap set of bookshelf (as a set of rears). They had good reviews but sounded they sound equally crap. Even my wife and kids could instantly tell they were very poor quality.

I would love them to be decent as they are exactly the sort of thing I'm after on paper.

As already mentioned you would be hard pushed to better the Neats, go and listen to some before you make up your mind

I demoed them and was looking behind the curtain for a sub. Physics defying speakers.
