I need to run a cable from my sky box to the kitchen TV and the easiest route is out theough the cavity then along external walls then back in.

Are HDMI cables up to that or are they generally just for internal runs?

Thanks

Just stick it in some conduit - job done.

I had the same problem, I just nailed the Hdmi cable to the brick work, no conduit, using cable clips, treating it just like co-ax cable. I suppose the only issue, over time, maybe UV light degrading the outer sheathing, though I doubt cable manufacturers produce two types of sheathing, one for internal use and one for external: We'll see!

You're going to need quite a big hole to get the plug through.

They absolutely do manufacture different types of outer sheathing for internal & external use but for this application the most economic solution is to just replace the cable every few years.
