Already on thread on this from the Oz race.

Summary of that thread : People who do not watch F1 think people who want to watch F1 without knowing the result first are stupid. It's not important like football or cricket.

They showed the results at the end of the race as well. Spoiled it for me.

Fancy the news featuring news from the day, obviously the BBC at fault and not the OP.

I hope they'll not be announcing the general election result until everyone is ready to hear it.

As the result of a F1 race is news I would expect it in all news channels,on the sports website, radio and other places as well.Seams reasonable as the race has finished.

When should they announce the race result as people may have recorded it and will watch it late morning, afternoon, evening or the next day. They cannot wait forever.

Do what I do if it is recorded dont watch or listen to anything that may give the reault away and the last maybe 20 times I have recorded the race the first time I know the result is at the end of the race I just watched.

So what does the OP usually do when there is an F1 race on?

Tell you what lets have a world ban on announcing any results till the OP tells us it is OK.

perhaps the OP can explain why he choose to give this thread such a tittle?

I think that the subject title tells us all we need to know about the OP.

We decided to watch qually yesterday afternoon and it nearly killed us trying to switch off the radio before every news bulletin and not using the Internet all morning and so generally missing anything else newsworthy.

So this morning we just got up and watched it live. It is just so much easier, if you call yourself a fan.

And what a great reward for our very small effort.

Reminds me of the old likey lads episode where they avoid talking to anyone, listen to the radio as they want to watch match of the day in the evening...

I do have some sympathy for the OP, I have been caught out a few times over the years where they just blurt out the result in the first item on sport news, just before the highlights show. Not everyone can or wants to watch it live if it's on in the middle of the night. Why can't they warn you? They always manage for bloody football... ' if you don't want to know the result, look away now'...

There is no justification for complaining this week - the race was shown live on the BBC this morning. As others have said, if you don't want to know, stay away from any news and social media, it may not be easy but it is the solution. And how many people would complain if a piece of news was not broadcast during the news? I have no idea if the same thing happens for other sports as I don't pay attention, but I know it does for F1 so I either watch live (when the BBC have it live), avoid anything that may give the result, or accept that I know the ending and decide how much to fast forward.

I still enjoy watching The Italian Job despite knowing the ending (although I do always hope the bus driver will have learned from experience).

I feel for the op. Last week I recorded the film red tails off the BBC. I was watching it the following evening and my wife came into the room she said we'd seen it before and told me what happened in the end.

Bloody arogant BBC.
