So I have just had my driveway block paved-

A few people have mentioned that I should get it sealed.

I asked the guy who originally did my driveway and he is saying it will do it for 5 per sq mtr.

Is it something I can do myself?

Any recommendations , experiences etc?

Let him do it. What is the meterage? I always say do what you are best at. You might as well do your day job if you had the time to do this.

It's 100 sq meters so £500 odd pounds- he said the main cost is in the liquid / chemical cost

I had this done and the guy sprayed the miniumum possible sealant on the blocks. It was a complete waste of time.
best to make sure he uses the recomended coverage, and yes the sealant is expensive.

have a read of www.pavingexpert.com before you decide

personally I think the blocks are supposed to be porous and left mine unsealed ....8 years later its fine, so long as you sweep up a few times per year it keeps the moss etc in the gaps to a minimum

sealing it wont stop crap accumulating and stuff growing in it......only regular sweeping can do that

I actually prefer the look of unsealed blocks. Over time they will weather and a little bit of moss adds character. To sweep it I bought a powered brush which saves the back breaking effort.

Is this really a thing? I always assumed it was something the local travelling folk offered you, so that they could charge you £500 for spraying the drive with any old stuff.
