Nobody can accuse me of being impetuous - it's only taken me the best part of 2 years to find the 'perfect' Evora. I bought a Lotus-appropriate plate back in December '13 so I suppose it was about time I got it off retention and on to a car - just got to hope that the DVLA gets its finger out and sends me the V5 pronto so that I can complete the swap ASAP.

Absolutely loving it already - I've smiled so much in the past few days that my face muscles ache.

NA, Laser Blue, Oyster interior, all 3 option packs, CR box, 2bular exhaust with bypass valve (wired into the heated rear screen switch).

Really nice. Great colour.

I have all 3 packs and am looking for another car with all three. It's difficult to find one especially as I don't want black or silver.

Perhaps I should have said "wired into what was the heated rear screen switch". Screen now disconnected so the switch only feeds the bypass valve.

Any de-icing/demisting that's required is quickly dealt with by Toyota, biggrin .

Here's a short(ish) video of me clearing out a few cobwebs from the system yesterday : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idjsmtnnfo4

Shame about the black wheels as the rest of it is a really classy combination. Absolutely stunning colour and very pleasing interior.

Enjoy it!

Ahh is that from Murray? I was going to nip down to look at that! Awesome looking car, you're enjoying it?

One question...how usable are the rear seats? I've got two kids (8&5) and will need a car that they can squeeze in the back of now and again for short journeys. I've not even sat in an Evora yet so have no idea how practical they are!

Regular sized 8 and 5 will fit in as long as you move the front seats forward for driver and passenger , as a driver , height 5 10 then there is sufficient room behind for the kids

Indeed it is. I saw it appear on their website a couple of months back and resisted (with extreme difficulty) the urge to rush straight round there. Went to a breakfast meet at MMC the following weekend and there it was, sitting there in all its glory, luring me over. A 20 minute test drive later and I had a pen out of my pocket quicker than you can blink, biglaugh . Best decision I've ever made, aside from marrying my good lady that is. My face muscles now ache, I've spent so much time smiling this week.

As for the kids, at that age they qualify for reduced bus fares don't they? evil

blah Cost me £300 to powder-coat they did blah , argue , laugh . Each to their own - it's what I wanted as I thought the standard factory silver was too 'in your face' and they'll tie-in nicely with the gloss black sills, front splitter , mirrors and roof that I'm having done next week to make it a Sports Racer lookalike.

I couldn't decide between black or silver wheels on mine

I therefore have silver wheels with summer tyres on and black wheels with winter tyres.

When I put the winters on in November I thought "wow the black looks so much better than the silver"

when I put the summers back on in March I thought "wow the silver looks so much better than the black"

I've finally had the Sports Racer black look applied, and some barge boards fitted, and it all ties in very nicely now I think - the black wheels don't look quite so stark now they're accompanied by the other black bits.

Looks great. Are the roof and splitter painted or is it a wrap? I am thinking of having mine done. Can I ask how much you paid and who did it?

Painted. Came to about £500 for the lot, including the mirror caps and door sills. Done by a local bodyshop, Protek in Bathgate, who came highly recommended by several performance car owners and they've certainly not disappointed with this job.

Thanks

I now need to decide if it will look right on my Storm Titanium car. Pictured above. I have siler wheels and black wheels. I also have barge boards.

Looks great - still tempted to get my sills and spoiler done at some point - good to know protech know what they are doing as they are reasonably local too.

What's the red beading on the front splitter?

So the same price to paint as wrap.

Given the popularity of the SR look I am not sure any potential buyers at resale would be put off by it being permanent. Tempted to go the paint route....

It's actually both a red and a gold coachline - alongside the black it's my little homage to the F1 team.

Hi David,
stunning looking car by the way, nice upgrades! I recently bought an Ardent Red Evora NA +0 from MMC in April.

Looking to get my stealth grey wheels painted gloss black (shame I have the black calipers though, your red ones look great against the black wheels) and undecided re the SR look - maybe get it done end of Autumn.

Quick question re your barge boards - are those the Lotus ones and were they fitted by MMC for you? I did enquire about them, but like everything from Lotus they seem to be on factory back order........ I do like the way they look smile

Enjoy the Evora and hope to see you out sometime, I'm in Perthshire so not too far away from you.
