This is my latest little project. it had been traded in against something and it needs a few bits and bobs sorting but a good price was agreed.

the paint is really quite good which is the key for me.

so far I have fixed the misfire that was caused by 2 faulty injectors. removed them and tested them one was just pouring fuel in a massive lump and the other refused to work unless it was at 7000 rpm
the power steering pump was believed to have failed but it turns out that its just a seized U/J
the hood is quite poor so I think that's next on the list after it goes for its mot next week. im just waiting for a replacement drive shaft as the inner joint failed on the way to the garage the other day.

hopfuly it will be on the road soon (Fingers crossed for some sun)

Love these!

I followed a Turbo a few months back, had the roof down (in Winter, commitment!) and they look really, really wide - and I can't look at them without having fond memories of playing Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge on the Amiga.

Like it, interested to see your project progress. I see one in a strange off white on my commute (Lotus old English white maybe)

Judging by the rain and cold outside, time is on your side for Sun!

Update time.

So last week it passed its mot.
Needed a new drive shaft thats it so not bad.

The restoration of the hood is underway with a new window being stiched in.

Should be vaguely water tight by next week

I'm interested to watch this thread as a good friend has a red one of these that he has inherited & I'm sure we will be tinkering to improve the cosmetics including a poor fitting roof! My wife describes it as a "happy car" that every smiles at when they see it biggrin

The roof seals are notoriously bad and either massively expensive or just not available.

Theres tonns of info available on line at places like elan central.
