Having had a couple of old 500's, the last of which we sold about four years ago, my wife fancies another but they are pretty expensive, been offered a Seat 600 which is a licensed version of the Fiat 600 built in Spain, it looks in good order and has had a lot of work, just had a quick nosey in the rain and the only rust is where someone has caught it, it looks very fresh. I have been told £3500 but have no idea how to value it, it doesnt seem bad at that money but am thinking what it would be like to move on, are the Seat versions not as sought after ?

Anyone had any experience of them, I am not sure what year it is, but it has suicide doors so it is fairly early.

The 600s don't seem to have much appeal and seem to be linger a fair bit before being sold in comparison to the 500s. An Abarth replica on the other hand would be very tempting. If you're keen on another 500 why not tick one off the bucket list and drive it back from Italy? You'll save a load given a favourable euro and have a great time at it. (Look on autoscout24.eu)
Plenty in Belgium and Holland if you're not brave enough for a 1000 mile journey at 40mph!

She has kind of decided to wait for a 500, the thought of driving more than 2 miles in one has started a nervous tick in my brain.

Crikey. My mum had one of these in period (1973 or thereabouts), and it was the most embarrassing, noisy and uncomfortable thing on the road. A Mark 1 Escort seemed like a Bentley in comparison. Why would anyone want one now, when the performance will seem even more glacial than it did then?

They don't even have the saving grace of being amusing to drive, unless the automotive hair shirt is your particular bag.

Perhaps I'm missing something.
