I just noticed that unlike the rear trailing arm bushings, the fronts all are single piece. Before I start disassembling the front end, I'm wondering how difficult it will be to push these on? Any experience out there?

I changed the bushes on the wishbones to mine recently but with superflex which are two piece ( well 3 with the tube) easy to fit....pain in the a*** to get the old ones out though, I used M10 stud, square plates , nuts and a large socket.

I'm sure I saw Ed fitting some new one piece bushes in a recent episode of WD in similar fashion which looked easy enough but then again Paul probably Fubared a Few first!

mine were the same 3 piece. A little washing up liquid helps with the install. Not that easy and patience needed

Not sure what WD is... Ed?
Unfortunately I have the one-piece units. All I can imagine is that they will need to be forced in like the original stock units. This appears to show how.

WD does indeed refer to Wheeler Dealers, a TV programme over here in the UK that features a guy named Mike Brewer who finds cheap modern classics in need of lots of tlc, then dumps them on his poor mechanic Ed China, who spends many hours rectifying all the faults, at zero labour cost, so that MB can flog the finished pristine car for a staggering 25 quid profit. wink

Thats about sums it up glen smile

I love that Brewer takes the credit though especially bearing in mind Ed has spent a fortnight on it for a tiny profit! I feel more sorry for Paul though who probably does all the hard graft and is not even allowed to talk smile

I replaced mine with the single piece bushing and it wasn't as bad as I thought. Put them in with vice and socket. Lessons I learned were the silicon grease is key, and make sure they aren't cocked before pushing them in, then do the same with the metal tube. The only issue I had was after wishbones were re- installed the rubber bushing was twisting due to bolt tightening on rubber instead of tube.......if that makes any sense.

Easy to get the old ones out, a bit of an ahole to get the PF ones in, but easy enough once you've worked out the technique!
