V8 s underbonnet wiring

Just started cleaning up the wiring under the bonnet, mainly to change the injector boots. Mine looked more like black tulips , sourced some new ones from vehicle wiring products . These are listed as junior timer housings, i went for the angled ones. Whilst doing this , noticed that from the alternator pole , the one that normally has two thick wires down to the starter to charge the battery, mine only has one and the other doubles back into the bulkhead. Very strange, can find no reference to this , as only the charging light wire should go back in the cab.Anyway will double up the cable to the starter as only 35 amp , and investigate further !. unless anyone out there knows why?

Thanks for the reply due to the weather not been able to get back to look . Have an idea its the feed to the back of the ignition switch. Bit unorthodox as would have thought it would have been getting battery feed from the starter motor solenoid !. Maybe a previous owner did this ?
