Previous Threads have been a great place to share tips and pontificate about winning big.

With just over a week to go - who do you fancy?

I've got my finger on "Night in Milan" at the moment.
As usual the lighter the better

I've narrowed it down to a shortlist of .... ten...Horses that have won (or come close) carrying 11st6+ over 3 miles+ and are carrying 11st or less today. I'm also looking at horses that have either been favourites or won other nationals (irish/midlands/Scottish etc)

On that criteria the McCoy horse kind of scrapes it into my shortlist but it's a very skinny price on a day where anything can happen.

good luck all

My wife and I just bet £26 on various horses for a bit of fun - just 50p to a couple of pounds on different horses so we will probably get our money back and anything else is a bonus. I think Shut the front door or Balthazar King might win.

I've gone for Oscar Time , Soll , Rocky Creek , Night in Milan and Al Co. I know nothing about horses and like someone above said anything can happen on the day!

If only that's how gambling worked.

My wife is a keen equestrianist (if that's even a real word) and sat reading stats and watching videos for an hour last night, and came out with a few names of horses she liked the look of, so I've bet a few quid and will see how good she is!
How do you mean if that's how gambling worked?

On another note, I just caught the tell end of it on tv there, but has Tranquil Sea died?

Managed to lay them both when they were doing well - finished up 120% as always should have held out on Alverado would have returned an awful lot more!

Had a tenner e/w on Alvarado @ 20/1

First time I've ever won anything on the national.

I think that was the best run National for years and really enjoyed it. It's the one race I never bet on, unless picking a ticket out of a hat.
