Silverstone GP in a 700hp Noble: PHTV

One thing Nobles have never wanted for is performance. Even the first 310hp M12 GTOs were damn fast thanks to their lightweight construction and turbocharged torque. As that car evolved through GTO3, GTO3-R and M400 it continued to get even faster and more capable too.

But why just have fast when you could have heroically, absurdly, terrifyingly quick? Step forward PHer andygtt and his 700hp carbon bodied GTO3... This video uploaded to PHTV shows Andy and his Noble at Silverstone GP going, well, quite briskly. There are displays for the speed, revs, gear and throttle too; while the outright speed is ludicrous, it's the velocity the Noble accrues on partial throttle that's most shocking. That and the noise, of course.

So congratulations Andy on creating such a mad car and having the bravery to drive it quickly on track. Please let us know more details about your incredible car!

Cars fast, but the driver isn't.... not done much track time so am a relative novice and this was the cars first track outing with its current power and after finishing making the carbon body.

Quite. Limited to 480p, made to sit through a 30s video about Spongebob Squarepants... Forget it.

Awesome car, although I think the datalogger doesn't quite keep up with the acceleration and flits about a bit, it's still ridiculously quick.

Always liked these Nobles although surprised how quickly the Radical SR3 caught it... there's always a bigger fish hey

Not making excuses as the radical was Much faster in the corners than I was... however it was visible a few hundred meters behind me at the start of the lap... It only caught me at the end as I practically stopped to go round the caterham.
There are nobles with much less power lapping faster than this particular lap as whilst they are not as quick the drivers themselves are a LOT faster than me.
One driver has a noble similar weight to mine and with 500bhp has lapped 25 seconds faster which shows how slow I actually am!

You can see Andy that basically u were only pushing it on the straights, were u not testing your full throttle shifts in this clip?

Finished reading the build thread. Quite unbelievable. Not sure accountants are allowed to do this sort of thing? Ought really to have just bought a Porsche and a set of golf clubs as per the industry guidelines.
