S5 Won't have RNSE it'll be the MMI system with the separate compenents. Ie the head unit is separate from the amp/nav unit which lives in the boot. Could be an expensive repair depending which section has failed.

See what others are selling for and bid him low based on that.

the MMI system could be a costly repair should it stop working altogether which i think would be just a matter of time

The clutch (and bearing) will be £1000 max, Audi offer it as a fixed price deal. The parts themselves aren't expensive but it's something like 14 hours labour so be wary of an indy garage offering you a price that's too good to be true.

If you can get it at the WBAC price then you'll be able to make money on it just by sorting the bits and selling it on.

Bear in mind that it'll be £500 a year to tax.

Im aware of the Tax since this S5 would be a nice replacement for the wifes R32

14hrs for the clutch replacment thats quite a long time my cousin has his own garage and said he did a quattro in 6hrs but it wasnt a V8

Clutch as above, you may be able to get it through Audi's fixed price deal.

MMI fault will most likely be the amplifier; they get wet. ~£700 for the part but only an hour or so to fit.

The other fault you'll want properly diagnosed.

Check the Nav disk, if its a copy it could be causing the system to shut down, i had this on my RS4 and when changed the disc to OEM it stopped going blank.

good luck

Behind NSR trim panel in the boot. Look for water marks on top and feel the foam underneath for moisture. Got a big aluminium heat sink on top of it, silver/grey colour.

At £10.5k and with those issues it's still an incredible bargain.

Did you take any pictures?
