Bermuda

Has anyone here holidayed in Bermuda before? We are getting married later this year and have been given the opportunity of a free house in Bermuda for a few weeks. The only snag is it's actually in June which is a few months before out wedding, but I don' think we're bothered by that if the opportunity is good.

The house is in Hamilton and it's owned by an extended family member who could do with someone house sitting, I've not seen the house yet but apparently it's really nice.

Return flights with BA are around £500 each and via JFK so we would have a few days in New York thrown in too. The weather looks good at that time of year so I think we will mainly be exploring or lounging around on beaches.

My cousin lives out there, I am very envious of him, especially all the nice photos of warm sunny days, blue sea and nice beaches he posts on FB.

So yeah given that opportunity you wouldn't see me for dust. Also home to one of the finest Rums in the world - Gosling's Black Seal. Suspect it costs a lot less over there than it does here.

My Cousins are in Hamilton too. When dining out remember that Bermuda shorts must be worn with a jacket and tie

Sister lived there for 3 years working for PwC. Visited twice, loved it, would bite your hand off for the offer of free accommodation. Rent a scooter when you get there and you have free reign of the island, you will love it.

As you're in Hamilton try and do this on a friday - it's free entry with a paid bar. We used to do it a lot on a friday after work, nice way to start the weekend

Pickup is by the flagpole on front street, get there early as its very popular !
