I'm going over with a mate from the 3rd to the 5th, driving on the 4th and will be in a Swift from Rent4Ring.

Any other PHers likely to be there at that time?

It's only my second time at the ring, I can't wait.

That's a shameless invitation for those there to offer passenger laps... If you hadn't spotted it.

Ring trip is almost here!

Arriving on the 3rd, Swift booked through rent4ring on the 4th, and ring taxi lap booked for the 4th too (probably after the laps in the swift, just so I'm not crushed when I go round 5 times slower!).

Would be awesome to meet any PHers there.

There's 3 of us coming over in a very unPH UK reg. Silver X5 (but my mate who owns it reckons it could be the perfect car)...

I hired one of those in April. They are awesome, very grippy, and the brakes are phenomenal. 8 laps to a tank, but there is a stAtion within 5 min drive. I did all inclusive, but think the basic might be better value as you can get a slight discount on your laps if you buy a bunch at once.

I'll probs just do a couple of laps, I'm there for the atmosphere and to perv over machinery as much as drive it again...

I often instruct for R4R and they have a new insurance in place where you pay a bit extra to insure against the excess and track damage. Talk to the guys at the desk when you pitch up incase you fancy covering your back against the worst. Worth just finding out the details.

Another good tip - I did ask via e-mail the other day and it's something like an additional €200 per driver. Car plus 2 laps is around €150...

I'll have a chat with them when we turn up to collect the car.

Also worth joining ADAC for around eighty euros-saves the 260 towing fee if the car should break down or be involved in an incident. It also gives you personal cover for things like repatriation etc.

It only works nowadays Terry if you can convince Dongards driver to put another pickup point on the paperwork. Hence why so many cars crash at Mullenbach nowadays!!

What so even though it is a German public toll road, ADAC will not recover you? How is the Nordschleife excluded when the recovery truck is an ADAC one anyway???

Could you possibly expand.

It is run as a public toll road, but is on private property. Just relaying what i was told by someone that was talking to one of the recovery drivers.

Different from what I was told by "that nice man"at ADAC when renewing mine Roy.Something to do with having the right permission to enter the property apparently.A friend recently discovered this to be correct, truck brought the car to Breidscheid, wrong! Oi, we want it at Weisamscheid,"ah, ok, kein probleme, zhen minuten."
