Right, a weekend of using my Ultima (weather permitting) has gone pear shape.

I got down to fitting the new rear hub and bearings I received from the Factory yesterday.
I have been chasing a squealing noise and found the cause this evening. The inner of the two bearings on the drivers side had been hot and spun on the shaft and allowed the disc to slightly touch the upright, hence the squeal.

I have tried to get it to squeal in the workshop to no avail and none of the wheels were showing any bearing movement.

The annoying bit is that I don't have the splined shaft or the hub (no stock at the Factory at the moment) and I hoped I wouldn't need them. Bugger.

It is worth mentioning that the builder of my car used second hand uprights & hubs and although I put new bearings in I only replaced the hubs that showed any wear. They have now all been replaced when this one is done.

It will be interesting to see if the 'bump steer' is any better when it's fixed!!!!

Paul

Note to Factory - I need Driver side hub, spacer and splined shaft ASAP please Andy.

Does anybody know what car the original rear wheel hubs are from?

I need one to get me going.

I think they are from a Ford Granada/Scorpio but not sure.

Anybody??

From a recent mail exchange with Richard for a question I had, he mentioned that the hubs are no longer of Ford Granada origin. They are bespoke so a call to the Factory would clear up the question.
