The official 2015 warm sunshine and BBQ thread...

So there have been a few downgrades, but nothing like the disappointment when miss out on snow!
The heat really arrives tomorrow, with the far SE likely to push over 30oC, then Wednesday will be the hottest - 35 should be reached in Kent or London. Normally this kind of heat takes a long time to arrive, and this really helps show why this event is so special.
Things become less oven-like for a few days, before a bit more warmth again on Friday - 30 possible again in the same locations.
Lots of thunder potential as low pressure is never far away - really intense storms on the cards. The low pressure is around Ireland and pushing South, forcing a bubble of warm air up from Spain, which has already been pushed up from the Sahara region.

Any ideas on how far North it'll get and how long it's anticipated to last? I'm not so fussed about 30s, 20s is fine by me but a nice settled period through July would be awesome
It'll be interesting if it gets as far as Silverstone on Sunday - can't remember a race in a thunder storm before, guess they'd park up if it was lightening due to strike risk in the pits holding on to lots of nice shiny metal! Pintofbest said:

Sadly I guess they will park up (safety car) when it starts raining, they don't use wet tires anymore just inters . Racing will commence when they are about two laps away from putting slicks back on.Chicken Chaser said:

High 20s should reach the M62 corridor on Weds - this push of warm air is very strong!I bet Altnaharra pushing 27C was more of a shock to the system after recent times.

Read somewhere this evening that it was the hottest day in Guernsey since 2006 only 29.something degrees though?!
Yeah 29 sounds about right, although I think some parts of the Island may have reached just over 30. Sea breezes will always peg our temperatures back somewhat. About 9 degrees too much for me though. The 'other' Island I think hit 32 today. Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
