Hi, I have a Mini which I bought to restore with my son a few years ago. But sadly, and for many real reasons, this dream never properly got off the starting line - apart from me part restoring the interior to its original German spec: wood trim, comfortable leather seats. Okay, since I've owned it I've sorted out all sorts of odds and sods with it, including: replacement of trailing arms and rear suspension; new uprated diff; and new s/s exhaust. So, now I have a dilemma: do I continue to pump inordinate amounts of moola into it, or do I flog it now?
I must say, in the four years since I've had it, I've had lots of fun with it, and until last December, it was my only car (I live in a city centre, so I walk mostly). We even nursed it through Europe on a skiing holiday across the Alps to Italy, to many admiring glances, which subsequently sparked a novel which I'm currently trying to find a publisher for.
The thing is though, although it's in generally very good and original condition - little serious rust - brilliant floorpan (except for the two front jacking points being dented, as usual) and the engine and running gear are all in tip top (although scruffy) condition, little bits of rust are just starting to show. In an ideal world I would love to strip it all down, respray the shell and reassemble it, but I don't have the time, premises or equipment to do so anymore. To pay someone to do it would cost a fortune and would probably result in some Fred in the Shed operation giving it a quick tosh in order to maximise their profit, but honestly, I really do think that this properly limited edition car deserves more.
What would you do?

Self-publish the novel.
Each book sold contains a raffle ticket to win the mini.

Simples.
