Hi all!

As we all know it is the season opener next weekend, Sunday 12th April at Burghley House.

A few of us felt it would be a good idea to take a decent driving route up to Burghley for this year.

So the plan is:

As per last year, the meeting point is:

- B&Q car park St Neots (Costa car park opposite if B&Q car park is locked): both are easily accessible from the A1 and Cambs etc. See link here for location: http://www.diy.com/store/st-neots/BQ_SNT653

- I would suggest people aim to get there for 9 am: meeting at 9 will allow anyone that wants a coffee to nip to Costa and grab a coffee/cake etc before setting off.
- We should set off at 9:30 am to allow plenty of time to get to Burghley House for 10:30 am.

The route I have planned will set off up the A1 briefly for 2 minutes, coming off to join the b645.
We'll continue along this road heading all the way through Great Staughton, and also through Kimbolton, turning right to join the b660, which we will then follow all the way through Catworth, Old Weston, Winwick, Great Gidding and finally reaching Glatton.
From Glatton we take a fairly sharp left, heading towards Bullock Road, which we will then follow for a few miles heading towards and passed Elton Furze golf club.
Once passed Elton Furze GC, we will take a left turn at the T junction, towards Elton itself. From Elton we will head right one final time heading on the b671 towards Wansford, where we will rejoin the A1 for the final 5 minutes/3 miles of the journey.

The direct route straight up the A1 is around 40 minutes, and 35 boring miles.
My route is only an extra 7 miles, and a maximum of 20 minutes extra also. It mostly runs parallel to the A1 itself.

I am sure the majority have drove these roads before, but if not, it is a great route for driving. There are plenty of areas where you can see well in advance what traffic there is, but usually the traffic is fairly calm at that time of morning.
We cycled these routes several times, and in the morning it was mostly other cyclists on the road.
One thing to be careful of, police do tend to patrol, but I would be surprised if they were out that early. The only thing to watch out for will be cyclists smile !
The route offers plenty of open countryside, straights, sweeping bends and mostly smooth resurfaced tarmac.

I am happy to lead and show people the way?

I hope the above is of interest to everyone?

See you all Sunday!

I'm new to TVR ownership but should be coming up from the south for this. Do you guys mind if I meet up with you and join your convoy?
