I am getting quite a lot of whine from my differential... most evident at motorway speeds with the roof on.

Is there any way I can top up the lubrication easily?

Topping up can be done by jacking up the O/S/Rear wheel and removing same.

IIRC access to the diff fill and level plug is fairly easy with the wheel out of the way.
Yes, I guess the purists may say that the level is not accurate because the chassis is not perfectly horizontal....but I bet you'll be within a few millilitres - my 2p's worth!

My plug had a metal tag/label on it so it was easy to find.

Superb... Thanks Nick. For bonus points do you recall what fluid you used? ;-)

I had a diff whine whenever I was off the throttle (but in gear). Got it fixed at my last service a few weeks ago, and whilst I can't remember exactly what the problem was (possibly bearings in the linkage?), it turns out
I could have done a bit of damage, requiring a new arm (or something like that - would've cost around £1k for the part).
