I have HID's fitted too - the difference really is like night and day!

Rear LED's for the indicators, tail & brake lights + reverse & fog light too. Front indicators can also be changed. Cost about £250 to do the whole car + another couple of hours to fit. I modified the lights wiring loom at the back so I now have 4 tail lights rather than the std set-up of just two at the bottom. LED indicators require a resistor or replacement fuse board relay designed for LED bulbs to correct the flash rate to 60-110 fpm for MOT purposes

I have the Jeep LED headlight units fitted and they are an improvement over the standard units. I have also fitted some LED H7 bulbs into the driving lights. The 'proper' LED bulbs have at least twice the output of the incandescent standard bulbs.
Not that expensive - a 2400lm set are around £35 off evilbay. There's a thread in the Chim forum on these LED bulbs.
As for the rear lights. I don't like the single reverse light set up so have bought lights to deal with this. Once Samy is finished I'll fit them.

Search ebay for 'H4 LED'.
Anything that looks like this;

will be rubbish so don't bother with them.
Something like this;

will be a big improvement over incandescent bulbs.
You need to get a bulb with and LED on oposing sides of the unit - some have them just on one side which I think is poor design. Some bulbs have more than 2 LEDs per bulb so just read each advert fully and make sure you understand what you're getting.
Personally I wouldn't get to worked up about getting mega Lumens. 2400lm is plenty for public road use.
Do you have a mk2 Tamora with the larger driving lights at the front? If you do then get a second set of [H7] bulbs for those too. I've fitted a set to my driving lights and am very happy with it.

Did the same when fitting my LED tail/brake lights, but i left the bottom standard ones as they are and took out the bulbs. The two upper LED's are bright enough (maybe a bit too bright...) A well timed thread, I am changing back to standard RHD headlights as mine are LHD. Thinking of going straight to HID lights anyone recomend which kit to go for. I did look at the jeep units, however seemed a bit costly and I have other upgrades to pay for first

I saw these recently and they looked pretty novel, might work well for a Tamora.
The idea is the back of the projector units mounts up to the old bulb hole, so you get bi-xenon projector light and functionality, but using the original Headlight and mounting system.

Are these easy to fit and do you have them? I see they have a lead coming off them hence the question.Something like this;

This style - that is ones without external ballasts - are no harder to fit that a regular bulb. They plug into the headlight plug. If you, genuinely, can't figure it out then you shouldn't be doing anything on your car.
There are versions that have external ballasts like the HID kits. These can need some additional wiring of a power feed and a relay but nothing complicated.
I think the latest LEDs are now mainly just plug and play.
The clip can be fiddily to get acrss the back of the bulb but, again, nothing complicated.

Thanks - was just checking as I wasn't sure of the connectors on the lead were the usual found on the back of bulbs. Did you have any issues with cover in the wheel arch and the heat sink on the back of the bulb. Brightyellowtvr was talking to me on Tuesday about bulb upgrades and I only realised (after talking to him and what I posted above) on the way home that the piggy back section on the LED bulbs may not fit behind the cover.
