If the rumours/spy shots are to be believed the new (as yet unannounced) Sony Z4 won't have a micro SD slot either..
If that's true, I will stick with Z2 or Z3.It's one of my favourite features.
Just got back to this..
Z4 will have an SD slot. I set up a Z3 compact for my mum last week, thought it was pretty good.

As above, LG G4 worth a look too I think

I can change in about a years time so I guess the next revision will be out by then but interested to see how both phones get on.

Have got one & first impressions are good. Battery life could be better, a bit of light use throughout the day pretty much drained it. Am not hugely fussed about storage as I won't be using it to watch films etc. Still getting used to the newer features on Android but seems to be smoother than the iPhone so far.
How you getting on with the battery life?I'm finding the battery life very good indeed. I've never gone below 60% by the end of the day. 7am-12am roughly. My usage is text messaging throughout the day + approx 20-30mins of calling. I was surprised about the report above of poor battery life, unless his definition of light use is 10 hours on facebook on 100% screen brightness.
I never get the whole "I've got 90 gb of music and want to take it all with me". It's almost people just talking ste for the sake of it.
I've got 70 gb of music on my network drive to supply all the sonos system, tablets etc at home but seriously why the fk would you want hundreds of thousands of tracks on your phone?
My guess is its bragging rights. If 128gb on a phone isn't enough you don't need a phone, you need a laptop.

Its simple, whatever mood I'm in, whatever I fancy listening to, its in my pocket. I never need to think I'm going on a long car journey/holiday/boring day at work etc so I need to put this album on or take that one off or work out whats on what playlist, ready to sync. Its just there, all ready to go.I've got 70 gb of music on my network drive to supply all the sonos system, tablets etc at home but seriously why the fk would you want hundreds of thousands of tracks on your phone?

As data charges get cheaper it'll become more and more irrelevant, because we'll be able to store in the cloud and just stream it or use spotify/deezer etc. Until that time, I'll be carrying ~8000 tracks with me, along with podcasts, audio books and so on.
I'd be quite happy to buy a large capacity handset and do away with an SD card, but pretty much all manufacturers charge handsomely for the extra storage, much cheaper to get a phone with a card slot.
If you are carrying a laptop around, when is the last time you put one in your pocket ? connected via bluetooth to your car ?

Your guess would be totally wrong then I've got 70 gb of music on my network drive to supply all the sonos system, tablets etc at home but seriously why the fk would you want hundreds of thousands of tracks on your phone?

Crafty's reply more or less covers it. Though streaming services would make little difference to me as there are plenty of times when I'm off line with my phone (tubes, planes, countryside...).
In your world, how many tracks is too many to have on your phone? One album? 10? 100? Do you never find yourself wanting to listen to something not on your restricted (cf your home network) selection? If not, why do you bother having 70Gb of music on your home network? (I'm assuming not for bragging rights ).
Yes, I could wait until I get home to listen to the other stuff. But that could be hours/days/weeks away. At the end of the day you could simply have 0 albums on your phone and listen to it all when you get back. Hell, you could save yourself a fortune on smartphones and just buy a Nokia 2610. But where's the fun in that?

Why wouldn't I want it all on my phone? I regularly go outside of my house. For long periods of time. I'm told many people do. It's nice to listen to music sometimes whilst outside my house.
I also owned a walkman once, and you know what? Not having to worry about what music I was going to take before leaving my house makes it better. And my internet now works without me having to worry about someone else using the line.
It's almost as if better technology allows me to not have to spend time planning around the limits of the technology.
My S6 Edge battery has been great.. I did turn on the basic power saving though. I can't see what changes that made. I also used a free power schedule app to turn off cellular data when I get home and get to work, turn off wifi at midnight. Also set my email accounts to check for mail every 15 mins, not constantly.
