Tom Tom free maps

Sorry of this has been done to death, but I bought a top of the range TomTom unit about 3 years ago. Now I notice that they are offering free map upgrades for life with their new units but aren't offering this to the likes of me.
I would still have to pay out quite a lot for just one years worth of updates. To hell with that!

I'm not sure if they expect people who bought when I did to happily fork out every year or whether they think it will persuade me to buy a new unit.

Well neither of those are going to happen.

Interesting I did the same and it keeps coming up with an annoying tag telling me that my maps are out of date and to update (buy new maps). I did buy a eu set of maps which cost a fortune and decided not to bother updating. Perhaps that is why the new units have maps for life.

I did got fed up with 70-80 a year for live and maps so bought a go40 the other day free life time. Also traffic and speed cameras via Bluetooth to a phone.

New os is much better than my old 825 top gear tomtom.
