Mine are rusty on the back and look unslightly. I was thinking of painting on some Hydrate 80 that I have spare. This drys to a a matt grey finish which would look okay but would it with-stand the temperature?

If not hydrate 80 then I'd use a brush on silver paint, any recommendations?

I always use silver Hammerite on mine.

Done it for years with no adverse effects.

Cheers, I'll pick up a tin of "direct to rust" next time I'm in town.

I've use Hammerite smooth silver in the past & it's been great. However, I bought a new tin last week & painted my Seat's disc carriers & it's turned a copper colour at the edge of the swept area. They've clearly changed the formula. Buy some engine enamel in silver.
