Headlamp surrounds

Afternoon chaps.

My TVR S2 allegedly uses Mini chrome headlamp surrounds with an "L" bracket riveted on to screw to the car.

As mine had rusted I bought a pair from MiniSpares (chrome over brass). However, the ones that came off the car have no lip on the back, and the replacements have a 4 or 5mm lip which makes them impossible to fit.

Just spent a couple of hours with a hacksaw trying to take off bits of the lip to get them to fit but it's just not happening.

Can somebody tell me what the "correct" style is, and where I can get one without a lip from?

they are MGB ones, which are held on with a snap clip rather than the screw (if you think of the wing shape on a mgb you wouldn't be able to get a screwdriver in to do the screw up

I guess TVR drilled the hole and put the bracket on (or maybe the clip had gone missing and someone did that as a bodge?) although it does look as if the std MGB clip method would work on a TVR

you can buy them from Moss in Bradford - that's where I bought the ones that are fitted to my Cox Gtm

they are wipac ones and come with the new clip as well

they are chrome ones that she sold me

100% they don't have a deep return ring - I even popped one off my GTM to check for you!
