Why didn't they make an offer before the last day of the window then?

It's just a man under pressure having a little whine and it's hilarious.

I can imagine the whine, 'why spend a load of coin now when I can spend nowt for the same result at the end of the season'. What a whiner. Hilarious.

All Perez is trying to do is to but the blame on United for the issues to keep DDG sweet.

If DDG plays and helps them get into the Champions league again and also do well then the revenue we will get will offset the 30m.

Also our net spend is low this year so i doubt they are too worried about the money.

That's why an agreement was reached was it?

I think the poll that showed 85% of madrid fans wanted to keep navas had more of an influence than perez is letting on .

anyway the kaiser had something interesting to say about our transfer activity.Check out the M.e.n website .(Im not linking it up as it may be against forum rules)

United placed a 70m bid for MUller, but bayern refused to sell .

If it was meant to go ahead it would have, wouldn't it?

It was going to. Real Madrid agreed the £30m + Navas to us.

Since when do Real Madrid care about that kind of money anyway? They wanted him, didn't get him, now the toys are being thrown. Simple as.

Aren't real saying that it was Manchester utd's lack of experience as to why the deal collapsed ?

A Manchester United spokesman told the Telegraph: "The facts speak for themselves. The FA are prepared to back our case that documents were in on time.

"We all like to blame others but if you let one slip through your fingers into the back of the net, then ultimately the culpability is yours."

certainly not convinced about the way they conduct the business ,but as someone else said 'if united had signed martial at a the start of the window and schweinsteiger, schneiderlin ,damian and depay on the last day every one would be proclaiming it a succesful window.'

But ultimately this is reals fault irrespective of anything UNited did or did not do,they left it until the last day of the window which they know poses a risk (see contraeo's aborted loan to us last year from them) .
He's squirming.

What also seems to be overlooked here also is that RM do not now have a top, top quality keeper (most likely for the rest of this season).

That may well end up costing them far more than had they agreed and paid a sensible fee in good time...

The FSW will not be a happy chap methinks, he could well draw a blank this year & be on his way again by May! biggrin

Congrats to Rooney matching Charlton's England record. Obviously lot of debate on opposition quality etc. Wondwred if any Phers actually seen them both play in the flesh to give a view?

Ive only seen Bobby on the archive footage, albeit plenty of it.

Different players, different eras and different styles to be honest. Charlton has won more with England (not hard) but interesting that he played more friendlies.

A records a record and despite plenty of hate towards him, he has risen above it and equaled a long standing one. clap

Modern football is as different as modern F1 there is no comparison really, I have seen Best Law and Charlton play for Man Utd and everyone after, back then it was a tough hard game played on crap pitches now it is deft touch football played on manicured lawns. They were tougher but not as technical, the balance was Cantona, Hughs, Robson. That was the tipping point

Taking all that into account (to the extent it's possible) was Eric THE man?

Best United player I've seen in the flesh, and probably the most influential. And played in the best United team for me.

Cantona was sheer class but not on the same level as Ronaldo. I think he's easily the best Utd player that I have seen. And I would have Scholes or Giggs or Keano in second place, I think. In his prime, Keano seemed to be able to win a game simply by wanting it more than anyone else, and Scholes was utter and absurd class for years.

Cantona was not just a player, though - like Keano he was a force in the team, an inspiration. Scholes and Giggs never really had that. Ronaldo carried the team for a couple of years.
