Hello to those who know about these things...
I am converting a couple of old stone pig sheds into an office but with a projector etc..... Its not a huge space - about 14 foot by 12 foot (albeit the ceiling will go from very high to quite low (ie 6 foot tall only at one end - so need to do the calcs re distance from screen).
I already have an av amp and 5.1 speakers. So am going to get a screen and projector. Popped into Richer sounds. They did me a demo on some kit they recommend ie EPSON EHTW6600 and Sapphire SEWS240RWSF (plus connecors and a SANUS mount).
So this looks like circa £1750. I should be ready to install in 2 or 3 weeks. Is this a reasonable set up? The picture quality seemed pretty good, certainly compared to what I've seen in friends houses. The room doesnt have much natural light and so it wont be hard to keep it dark.
Any views welcome.
The room wont have central heating but will have an oil filled electric rad stuck on a low setting to stop the room getting too cold. Plus has very thick stone and will have kingspan and will have scaffold boards for internal walls. So hopefully not an alien environment for the kit.
Thanks.

Any thoughts on this welcomed :-)
Am considering maybe a 2m screen as the sloping ceiling might mean the 2.4m minimum throw (3.25m) sets the projector below head height. Also does the projector need to be behind you? My measurements etc mean the projector might be right above the sofa position.

Have a look here for throw distances etc projector throw calculator It doesn't have to be behind you, overhead should be fine, the only issue sometimes is fan noise, though if you have a light controlled room you should be able to run it on an 'eco' setting where the fan isn't as obtrusive. Have a look here too AV forums they seem to think the Sony is a better bet for a bat cave.HTH
