And then she got in the wrong lane on the roundabout.
What are these people thinking?

Very little between the ears, so thinking......nothing.

Had one of those today; junction into a NSL single carriageway, driver pulled out and accelerated to 20. I heard the tyres squeak I had to brake so sharply to avoid a collision.

Streetview appears to show a gap wide enough for two cars to pass, even with cars parked. What were you driving?
Trust me, it's narrow for two smallish cars to pass the parked cars at the best of times there. It only takes one parked van or badly parked car to screw the whole thing up. Just take him at his word.

Following a transit truck up a narrow road this morning and he started to indicate right and slowing. He slowed to a stop where there was no turning on the right.
Then a guy got out the passenger door and walked behind the truck and infront of my car to cross the road.
I had the window open and said to the guy, "tell him he's got the wrong indicator on"
"Oh, aye"

This guy nearly got run over as the people carrier behind me pulled out (tyres screeching) and passed us all.

As I passed the truck I said to the driver, "you've got the wrong indicator on mate"
"No I haven't you fking donut!"

Well I would've (should've) left it if it hadn't been for the abuse. So I pulled up and walked back. By now there were half a dozen cars waiting behind the transit for him to pull out.

"Mate, no need for the abuse, you're holding everyone up because they think you're about to pull off"
"It's fking obvious I'm pulling in there" - he pointed to an entrance behind him on the opposite side of the road.

Now, he couldn't reverse into it because of the cars behind him and they were waiting because it looked like he was about to pull off.

We "chatted" for a minute or so but he was just abusive so I left it.

I know I shouldn't get involved but he was causing a hold up which would have been alleviated just by him knocking off the indicator.

fking knob of the highest order.

Unbelievable. In the future when we're all driving cars that look like something off the set of Mad Max it'll be incidents like this that'll show future generations what caused it.

Thanks, I'll be signing autographs later, shall I make it "to Ubar"?

Seriously, I know it's not the best idea I've ever had.
I didn't go back there to be aggressive or to try and have a fight, but he was in the wrong, he was abusive to me. I wanted to find out why and to point out that he was causing an obstruction. The half dozen cars lined up behind him were testament to the fact that what he did was causing a hold up.

Someone did that to me this morning, then they decided to be a tt. I gave a quick flash when I had to slow from 30 to 10, he then didn't exceed 10mph, indicated right when going left (think he did on purpose because I was so rude as to flash him when he pulled out) and then accelerated hard, probably up to 40+ in a 30.
To make things worse, there was nobody behind me when he pulled out

With the posts you have made over the last couple of days it would seem like you are the knob. I wonder why all this happens to you, and what could be the common denominator wink

At the moment, this sounds like a rant, where both of you felt in the moral right, so... in the interests of accuracy.

How many cars in total on your side of the road. - (between my parking space and the end of the row, it was full)
How many cars before the gap on your side. - (no idea. I had been parked in the gap. But it was pretty busy as far as parked cars were concerned)
How long/wide was the gap on your side. - (tight, but big enough that I got a Mondeo out of it without too much to-ing and fro-ing)
How many cars on your side of the road after the gap.- (four, as I previously stated, and, coincidentally, the same number as in your 'drawing')
How far from the other end of the cars was the Taxi, when came upon the gap. - (as stated previously, I was already alongside the last parked car as the taxi appeared around the corner. The gap was four cars back at this point)

Draw a picture if you want.

[car][car][car][car].........[car][car][car][car] taXi
Your 'picture' is fairly accurate. The first available gap into which I could have reversed was the one from which I emerged, onto a clear road ahead. As for your comment that it "sounds like a rant"? Bizarre thing to say on a thread what's sole purpose seems to be to provide a place in which to rant at "things that make you think knob".

And for an independent opinion on that section of road, I'll hand you over to 'masermartin'...

I've laid myself wide open to that haven't I?
Although in my defence, every other single person on the roads is a knob!

I do let minor things get to me, I know that (and I vent by posting them on here)
And I don't normally engage with the knuckle-draggers I meet on the road but it bothers me when someone's in the wrong - whether they pulled out without looking and could've caused an accident or whether they've caused a hold up through their lack of consideration - and then they get aggressive and mouth off at the other person.

Honestly, I can be very calm and diplomatic, but today (especially) I couldn't stand back and be verbally abused when someone else is wrong.

I have a dashcam so this isn't an anti DC post.
But I am sick to death of all the idiots I see with a DC right in the middle of their eye level, directly above the steering wheel.
Do they not see the poetic irony of a camera that is used to record other people's mistakes and then you have it fitted right there?
Complete and utter idiots.
I see the same with satnavs too. Police should crack down on it.

I have one too, but I'm not part of the "lets upload every misdemeanour to YouTube lot.
It's there for peace of mind. It's hidden right behind my Rear View Mirror and it's great. It also doesn't get affected when it rains as it's in the line of the wipers, which is handy!

Yeah, but you're driving a Merc, so y'know they're thinking 'screw you buddy' I'm going show you the full power of my shoebox, plus I've got *three* brake lights, so take that!

Good choice of music though.

Dozy bint in the Micra earlier.Pulling out of thee car park for a shop, stopped with half her car on the main road, and stayed there....and stayed there....and stayed there! When I approached it was all clear to her left, and I was coming from the right, deliberately indicated early so she knew she could pull out.But no,she just stayed there, blocking the carriageway, at least 6 cars had to move into the opposite carriageway to get past here.I had time to park & get out of the car before she eventually moved off.
And SWMBO says she went up & down the road at least 5 times while I was in the shop. eek

All that jazz
