So, following a rather enjoyable trackday at Bedford yesterday, my Mk5 GTi needs new rear brakes - the pads have basically disintegrated and the discs have clear steps in them! I think the reason being that its impossible to actually switch the ESP off entirely...

Anyway, I'm in the process of ordering up new pads and discs. I'm just going to go for OE discs, but what about pads? OE or Yellowstuffs are what I'm considering (the yellows worked well yesterday on the fronts). There remains the possiblity that the car will see the odd trackday in the future.

Cheers

Seems a no brainer to fit uprated pads if its going on more trackdays. I had to replace mine after a track day and i think the mechanic said they don't have low warning sensors on the rear, which i probably why yours went down to the discs before you realised.
