If you find one I'll buy it off for 3k. Meanwhile... In the real world
In the real world £4k for that stter gets you a whole lot of alternatives ... The 954 is overated which is why prices are keen ... £4k will get a 5PW or 5VY R1 which are both better bikes than a 954 ... Mr OCD said:

I had a 2004 r1 and it was pretty good but I preferred my 929. Anyway, each to their own I guess. Cheers.dern said:

That might be the case which is fair enough each to there own. I look at it like this. The comments on the thread speak for themselves even if its your cup of tea you would struggle to sell it which will bring the price down a lot. The different paint job says itself there is a very good chance that bikes been down the road.
However if its a nice straight bike it might be worth a punt and get some original colour fairings. If I was buying that I wouldn't pay more than £1500 if the bike is real straight with history. I wouldn't even entertain something like that if im completely honest.
^^^^ like what he said. Like others I look at it and think £2k tops. I might be buying a 2008 onwards Blade when I get back and my target price is only another 500 quid on top of that!
Is that Premier Bikes in Didcot? I sort of recognise the trees where they photo them. The leaves indicate they've had it awhile.

Sorry, stuff to do this evening.
I bought this...
It's a 2007 CBR1000RR. Main dealer history, 1500 more than the 954... no brainer really. Loved the way it looked and it rode really nicely. I pick it up next saturday.
The superduke was ok but wasn't my sort of thing. Good fun in the twisties to a point but the character, the lack of a fairing and the constant refueling got old really quickly. The fireblade is turbine smooth and feels like an old friend. Happy days.

Rode the KTM home from Abindgon last week and then didn't use it all week as I was on school run duties. Ran it back up the A34 and by the time I got there the fuel light was on. That tank size thing got old very quickly. Took a bit of a hit on the bike as I had it less than a year but while it was a laugh sometimes it never caught my imagination. Anyway, handed the keys over and picked up the fireblade.
Haven't done a huge number of miles on it this weekend, only 100. Had more family stuff to do and my track car to prepare. Just did the roads I'm familiar with, over to Wantage and so on. I bloody love this bike, it's fast for sure but incredibly easy to ride. I guess some people might find that boring but I like to go fast but I don't need it to be a struggle and I don't need to overcome what many people would call character. It's an incredible piece of machinery, beautifully put together and it all works brilliantly together. I had started to miss my old 929 and I can definitely tell I'm back on a honda. I think there's an argument to say that the 929/954 are better bikes for what they represent but I like this one a hell of a lot and it feels natural to be on it at speed immediately.
Cheers,
Mark
