LAny ideas what's happening here? When the aircraft was off the East Coast he was circulating at around 16000 ft.

Anyone know how many aircraft one of those could refuel in one sortie ?
( Typhoon or Tornado being refuelled )

Depends what the receivers are doing, where they're going etc etc - if taking a pair of Tornados on a trail to Akrotiri, it'll probably be 3x refuelling brackets per jet and nothing else. Normal UK training towline, something like 6 or 7 pairs of aircraft will refuel off a given tanker - there's a big document emailed round the flying squadrons with the daily plan on.

All depends on how much fuel is taken. Always enjoyed the phone calls offering fuel when an aircraft canceled its slot.
