Hello there, I would like to talk to a diesel specialist
Discussion
Hello Mr. specialist,
I have a Ford Ranger with a MZR-CD 2.5 Tdci engine. I did a few things to gain more power. High flow intercooler, closed egr, ecu remap, better and faster exhaust, optimized intake.
It is said that 80% of a diesel tuning performance comes from the remapping. Sure I can add a bigger turbo and headers. I might reach 290 Din Hp.
But, what can I do with the internals of the engine? Is it useful to have a bigger bore? I could use the 3.0 setup. Or what about the cylinder head? Better springs and valves?
I need a serious answers, because I do not want to gamble and do things right.
The point is that where I live, they hardly speak English and I never will now the details. You see, here they do what others do/does, but there is never a good explanation why they do it.
How far can I go? I used to drive benzene cars with 125hp/liter. How far can you push a diesel and stay safe?
Plz help.

Thx Stevieturbo for your reply.
In western countries people always question things and they can stand for an answer. Where I live they all say 'yes I can do' and you have to see (better worry) for the result. The positive thing is it won't cost much.
The advise I have of several people is to add a Isuzu T5 or T6 turbo, but nobody can tell me what or who made it. Any idea?
Injectors is very misty to me, the dyno guy said; 'better quality not bigger' I have no idea for what or where to look for. The stock injectors are Bosch... is there better???
A fact is that the 2.2 new Ranger engine after remapping 220 hp and 550Nm pulled, amazing that engine. So I was wondering, what does this euro5 engine has, what I do not have????
