A slightly odd request I'll admit, but would any S3 owners in the Swansea/ Carmarthen area be prepared to assist me by dropping by my place, which is just off the M4 at Jct 48, as I need a little help to work out if I can get an S3 up my drive as far as ground clearance is concerned as the drive is on a bit of a slope - hopefully not enough to prevent me from getting an S3 up to my garage.

Obviously I'm don't expect anyone to do anything to damage their pride and joy, but I'd like to know if it's an option before I buy an S3 or whether I'd need to look for a lockup or whether a slight mod to give a little extra ground clearance would be needed.

Thanks in anticipation of any help that anyone could lend.

Cheers

Sounds like you need one of these limited edition S's

or maybe this?

Or move to Norfolk? Some nice S's out there. The owners are a bit dodgy though laugh

biggrin

The drive isn't quite that bad, just want to be sure I'm not going to grind the exhaust down bit by bit.

This can happen biggrin

But if you have adjustable shocks, you can increase the ride height somewhat.
Original Konis were not height adjustable though.
The S1 ( like mine ) was the lowest, but later S's had improved ground clearance, so unless your drive resembles a series of typical Stockport speed humps, ( more like the Mohne or Eder Dam yikes ) you should be ok.

And don't go for lower profile tyres than standard.

Thanks for the pointers, I'd be gutted if I can't get it up the drive.

Hope to have a visit from a local owner tomorrow to check it out.

Fingers crossed.

If Neil struggles to get up your drive, it's coz he's not using enough power! wink

Haha, don't worry I should be able to build up enough speed coming down the M4.
