Wilton Classic & Supercar with Castrol Edge

PH teams up with Wilton for a very special take on a popular event

We've teamed up with the lovely chaps at Wilton Classic & Supercar with Castrol Edge again this year to bring you some exclusive parking within the grounds of Wilton House.

The date of WCS has moved to the beginning of the show season; the dates to clear in your diary are June 6-7. Essentially the theme for Saturday is classic cars and Sunday is supercars, although all cars are welcome on both days. We'll be in attendance on Sunday with a dedicated parking area for up to 750 PHers with our own refreshment vendors available throughout the day. There will also be interactive displays and features throughout the whole weekend.

"Almost every Bugatti ever made," promises our host

The event always attracts a prestigious range of cars and motorbikes, which this year organiser Lord Pembroke says will include "almost every Bugatti ever made."

There will be some very exotic metal displayed on the lawn of this beautiful country house, including the McLaren P1, LaFerrari, Porsche 918 Spyder, Aston Martin 0ne-77, a Veyron Pur Sang and a Veyron Super Sport WRC.

Over 500 cars are expected to be on display throughout the weekend. "We will have our Classic Car of the Show and Supercar of the Show trophies, together with Spirit of Wilton, but we wanted to create a special award to highlight lesser known stories,'' says Lord Pembroke. "We have great barn finds, local cars which have been in families for decades and others which have driven around the world. And we want to tell their stories.''

Tiff Needell is on board as show ambassador and will host the daily parade interview sessions with drivers and owners. He'll also be on hand to talk to visitors about a whole host of motoring-related topics.

"This is a great event in the motoring calendar and I'm thrilled to be involved this year,'' says Tiff. "It's a great excuse to spend two days surrounded by some amazing cars and bikes from rare old classics through to the very latest supercar technology.''

Tickets and more information is available here, tickets are priced at just £16 per adult until May 1 and £20 afterwards. Those of you who've been before will be able to confirm what great value this show is. Once you've bought your tickets you can sign up to be in our exclusive on-site parking area by clicking here. We aim to close entries to the calendar on Friday May 29 to ensure time for Wilton to send tickets out.

Signing up to the calendar does not grant you entry to the show - you will need to buy tickets separately using the link above.

See you all in June.

eybic and the PH team.

It says in the article PH will be there on Sunday so I guess not. I suppose it's classics day so unless you're taking a classic you might as well park in the normal parking.

Also,

"We aim to close entries to the calendar on Friday May 29 to ensure time for Wilton to send tickets out."

Are Wilton sending the parking permits this year then rather than a print-your-own PH logo sheet as previous years?

A real shame they've split the days and dropped the supercar parade. There was plenty of room for all cars and the parade was a unique aperitif. I went the last two years, can't go this year, but will be interesting to see how it pans out without Jaykaybi on board (and as I understand it there a lot of background politics involved there).

Definitely a shame if that's confirmed, it was something a bit different, it must get harder to do as the show gets busier though.

There is now a Supercar exit parade at 4pm.

I think the event format is better now as it is caters for the paying public rather than "Jay's mates".

All supercars will be on site from 8am and not simply when they felt like showing up around midday.

Running the event over 2 days gives more incentive for high end "partners" to attend as their setup effort is more worthwhile.

it'll certainly be interesting to see how the supercar parade pans out now

jay's mates voluntarily giving their time/cars/money to a charity is a little different to a commercial venture expecting us to drive way down south and be in place for eight am !!!

Personally Andrew I prefer the new format, being sat outside Wilton last year for an hour waiting to go in was not my idea of fun,not being allowed to park outside Brooklands hotel inconsideration of other guests was a total joke and Jay should of found alternative accomadation. There was never any proper organisation on the trip down to wilton just a case of follow everyone else if you got lost tough,i appreciate the time that Jay put into organising the supercar display but I honestly think it was time to try something new and only time will tell if the new format is going to work, there will always be people that don't approve of change but lets give it a go support the event and then evaluate at the end.

just my opinion of course cheers simon

Does anyone know where the "West Lawn Parking" is?

Other than on the lawn on the west side. biggrin

Is it where the Supercars used to be parked up and roped off?

I'm running in the Abingdon CAR-nival Sprint on the Saturday, tempted to make it a double header of car goodness and run the car to Wilton on the Sunday.

Good to see a few entries for 'family smoker' in there already. Whilst I'd prefer to come up in the PH-worthy MX5, I'd also like to spend the day with the wife and kids so it will have to be the CRV!

To take advantage of PH Parking is it just the standard Sunday ticket that needs to be purchased?

So what's the crack with the parking then? Do we become part of the show or are we just a section of the public car parking?
I haven't been to this show before but some of the comments so far sound like its a bit unorganised.

The PH parking is its own area separated from public parking but is by no means in the centre of the show, it does attract people who know it's there as it tends to be filled with our unique choices of PH machinery.

I wouldn't say the show is disorganised, I think the comments above related to the supercar convoy pre-arrival at Wilton.

I'd say considering it's such a small team and it's still in its infancy it's extremely well run and unbeatable value for a car show of this kind in Britain.
