Jockman still can't keep up
Discussion
This lot turned up for breakfast
So we decided to pop out for lunch in Shropshire and bumped in to this pair
A few others turned up for lunch
One of the aforementioned pair had organised a run out
Despite DBS ownership we had to wait at "every" junction for the short blue one
Many thanks to Mikey for yet another top route, especially the single track bit over the mountain
Another top day out

Great day ,guys.....cannot think of a better way to have spent £140 worth of fuel!!
What a superb day - the weather - the company - the food - the route and not forgetting the banter......oh yes top quality all round.
Thanks to The Moose for breakfast, Phil for suggesting the idea to Nick, Nick for booking it all up and The Routemeisters..... Cockers for the route over and Mikey for the route after lunch....
Happy days

Fuel is virtually free over here now
I think it went upto to around £1.50 per litre. I've certainly paid €1.47 for petrol in France (I recall it was about £90-£95 to fill the tank. Not sure what it is now £80?
Ever since they got rid of pricing in gallons I kinda never kept up. The bottled water in the petrol station is more expensive than the petrol per litre now. I think. I don't really buy the water, just an occasional Mars bar or a coffee. Not sure if the exact price of those either, but certainly the Mars bars have got smaller recently.
I think this is not helping you understand the price of fuel over here KF.
Anyway - definitely sounds like a great use of £140 and a great day out!

We're sitting at around $2.20/ gal now.

So it's still about twice our price then. That must mean your fuel prices must've gone down as well, right?
Not just the Florida sunshine, but almost free petrol as well.
Hopefully you might feel sorry for us.
Please correct if wrong, but using US gallons (where did that come from) and a currency conversion of 1.49;
UK equivalent price = $6.77 / gal.
Motorists here are easy meat this side of ‘the pond‘, for our governments raising money.
With the pricing now in confusing litres, we even pay tax on the fuel duty tax. No mention of taxes are shown on the pump, and the receipt only shows VAT and not the major element (fuel duty not the actual petrol).
Complaints are aimed at 'greedy' oil companies, without realising that the oil companies are gradually withdrawing from the filling station business, because it is unprofitable.
Perhaps we should sympathise with our governments (both colours). They have to pay for billion pound cancelled IT projects, hospitals and schools financed by horrific very long-term off balance sheet arrangements, and defence contracts that seem to keep going wrong.

WTF has any of this got to do with Jockers needing little blue tablets
Keep it on topic perleaasssee
The Jockman is the king of off-topic banter, so I think retribution is fair game. Keep it on topic perleaasssee

Epic day
Great company as ever
Glad to see Jockman caught up with the pack when we got stuck behind the learner
Thanks for organising it Mikey & Nick, cracking day as always. It was a shame we didn't get to chat more over lunch but there will be another time. Great company as ever

Sorry I had to miss out on your run Mikey but I had another engagement to attend. On the plus side though, I stumbled across the B5055 from Leak to Bakewell on my way to Chesterfield, largely traffic free and fantastic fun.
