that's my old car i know the new owner well, the actual story is that the fuzz were looking to pull over cars on the way to the new malden meet and they stopped this one and said the tyres were bold and not road legal. the tyres were actually fine and road legal (inspected by mot center) but typical of the two officers known for being less than informed they wouldn't have any of it and even tried to suggest that they should seize the car and impound it.

its the price you pay sometimes when you have a nice car that stands out and moody police trying to fill a quota i suspect.

Someone seems to be having a discussion with them about the legality of the tyres...

That's quite embarrassing for Surrey police tbh. When social media backfires...

And is there a follow up to this story ?

Did it go to court and what was the outcome ?

It's been to court once officers didn't show up, 2nd time only one came and they changed their statements.due for a 3rd time soon and I suspect as the police have not bothered and have made a hash of their story and report it's not going well for them. Owner is on the right on the tyres and mot so I hope he gets damages and repartition for lost work time and costs incurred by the two misinformed and incompetent police officers.
