I've confused myself, so if you could let me know your thoughts that would be much appreciated. If replacing a master cylinder, what effect will increasing or decreasing the bore size have. My thinking is that a bigger bore will give less pedal travel for the same amount of stopping force?

Yes, but will also increase the force you need to apply at the pedal.
Larger bore = short pedal travel, more effort required.
Smaller bore = long pedal travel, but less effort needed.

Thanks, at least I got that straight. What would give the best modulation? Presently they work, but it's a bit all or nothing.
