I'm thinking of selling my Macbook Pro Retina (16gb ram, 512Gb SDD) for a proper gaming laptop. I have Bootcamp running Windows 7 Pro, but despite the reasonable specs it struggles to play games with any reasonable graphics quality.

While I can still get over £1k for this I'm thinking of finding the extra to put to it for a proper gaming laptop.

I know the arguments against gaming laptops, but I spend more than 6 months of the year out of the country so while a tower would give me much better bang for buck it's no good for my situation.

What would the PC gurus recommend for this budget?

That one does look pretty tremendous. I'm not completely au fait with what's good and not though. Will that run current gen games with high detail?

I'm not really current but this is a review november last year and not much has changed since then, looks solid. Smashing Bioshock infinite.

And December, cruising BF4.

Theres a few websites out there so you can spec a few things yourself.

I've used https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/ and http://www.chillblast.com/ in the past and would recommend them.

Have fun
