You've probably all seen the video now
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ETm9rqOEvA
First you can see a van up ahead merges into the line of moving traffic
then this car/caravan gives clear intention of trying to do the same

ETA
This isnt examining the behaviour of the car/caravan as like the van ahead theyve both decided that for whatever reason they need to get in the left lane. They could have any number of reasons for being in that position.

The poll is what do you do about it when you can see it happening just in front of you

Do you....>>>

While I'd probably curse him and call him a tt for being in the wrong lane, and trying to push in, I'd slow down and let him in.

Looks to me like the lorry had a crash for the sake of it.

Not letting him in would leave him stationary on the motorway carriageway while the lorry went through.

I'd probably be a bit peeved at them for not planning ahead, but I'd let them in. I've made the same mistake on a junction like that, not the end of the world.

Id just let them in. Jeez, it makes no real difference to me and avoids the free flowing lane to the right being blocked.

When I reach my destination will I even remember the event? No. It really is that inconsequential.

I'd just chalk it up to some people make mistakes / are rude.

In that situation I'd let them in, it's usually best to let idiots go in front.

But I can understand not wanting to be stuck behind a caravan driven either by a moron or a bell-end.

If you were standing a queue and someone did this what would you do?

Both drivers are monumental bell-ends. Not sure which one had the nicer jumper though, as we don't get to see the lorry driver.

I'd rather let him in than risk being involved in something bigger if he got hit up the arse while waiting to get in

Depends, is there a stampede coming behind the chap and he's in imminent danger until he gets into your queue?

In honesty I'd probably want the rude bugger to sweat a little bit so upon seeing his predicament probably wouldn't jump out of his way- but ultimately I'd reluctantly let him in. 'Cross' probably isn't the word as I don't get road rage but I'd be a bit peeved.

Oi start your own poll wink

Depending how well they were built, tell them the queue starts back there?
Who'd try to keep them out of the queue into live traffic?

Pointless comparison as he can't reverse back up the queue to get to the end. Caravan bloke was an idiot for pushing in but the lorry driver was an even bigger idiot for not leaving any space and trying to force him out, and a complete knob end for actually hitting the car when it was clear what was going to happen.

Er, if you miss your junction you just carry on to the next one not stop in live traffic and force your way into a gap that isn't there.

Assuming...

a) the next junction has an off ramp
b) is in the same county
c) he knows where he's going because, let's face it, he tows a caravan and wears Pringle jumpers, so he probably votes for UKIP, has early dementia and didn't fork out for a sat nag upgrade.

None of those are even remotely close to being suitable reasons for what is at least undue care and attention. I've done it loads of times because I've had other things on my mind, I occasionally fk up the A2/A249 junction and that's a 10 mile detour every time that I do it. Do you know what I do every time? Call myself a dhead and carry on to the next junction.
