On your various vehicles (let's keep it clean eh?)

It's a very slow Tuesday so I thought I would see what the people of the South Coast have been working on over the past few months?

Also - looking good for the 11th of May for the first Kitchen Club meet of the year

Nice.

My E28 is now back on the road following an 18 month hiatus involving a Honda, a Renault, a TVR, an Audi and a Jag. Got a bit out of control there for a while!

Although not doing the work myself, the red rocket has had the full stage 2 treatment since Xmas

E36: Stripped down the M50 lump from the E36 I broke, secured the 3-litre crank, rod and pistons to stick inside it, about to start porting and polishing the head, get new gaskets, and build the engine back up. Fit the new Brembos at the front, E36 M3 brakes at the rear, and lots of new rear subframe bits. Aiming for a completion date of June 1st.

944: Finally drying out after 5 years sat outside on a seafront. Tomorrow will be 'fixing electrical gremlins' day and possibly getting the rear offside caliper unseized. It runs, and has MOT booked for Saturday. Let's see how long the fail sheet will be!

MX5: Just bought bucket seats, coilovers and Minilites next on the shopping list... and a compressor so I can spray it half light blue metallic, half pearlescent off-white, with a gold band between the two.

E46: Collecting this weekend, fitting new turbo, returning to the road.

Lots!

Mostly, all new ball joints all round, coilovers serviced, new rack gaitors, all new nuts and bolts, a couple of new wishbones, the remaining wishbones were blasted, thermal zinc sprayed and then epoxy painted and the chassis given a coat of epoxy paint.

It's currently having an MOT and full suspension alignment including corner weighting. Hope to collect it tonight!

Looking good, and I understand a new addition to the fleet?! smile

I've managed to spend in just over 1 week - £2k on the Ultima for the following:-

Freshly refurbed OZ Splits
Reverie Carbon intake System
CarbonMods front splitter
New LED lighting
New OMP Alcantara steering wheel

Nice!

Yes, two new additions to the hire fleet actually. A Jaguar F-Type R Coupe (although it's not mine) and I've just bought a Porsche Cayman S. I desperately need another garage!

I've been off for two weeks and managed to spend some time in the Garage …..

The SuperCat (Kit Car) is very close to being started for the first time. Loads of little jobs done and the Exhaust fettled & fitted. Coolant system finalised and installed, Headlights fitted, front suspension finished off, steering rack cradle welded into place, last of the engine bay wiring done. Should be running within the next 7-10 days!! woohoo

The VX220T is back in my garage. I'll be looking at that soon and find out why it won't start and hopefully see if we have sorted the turbo issue. (Loads done over the winter. Lightened flywheel, racing clutch, new Elise S2 rear suspension, new Coil Over Damper Units, Cam belt & Water pump, etc, etc)

Not touched the Cerbera yet. The SuperCat has to go first to make space & free up funds!!!!

So! Still plenty to keep me busy. The new job helps giving me 4-day weekends and loads of paid annual leave.

Not strictly my fettling, but the 12C is away right now having its wheels refurbished by McLaren from 'stealth' to high gloss black/diamond cut. Also having the stone chips repaired and a shield applied. It'll be back in time for the next meet and should be looking new again, can't wait.

New turbo actuator and rear pads today, had to make a pressure tester to match the actuators and it worked very well.
