Background check on BMW M5

Dear All,
I am hoping to buy an M5 this week but it is being sold though a non-BMW authorized dealer. Is there any kind soul out there with access to the BMW system who could look the vehicle up for me to ensure it does not have a murky past?
Any help is gratefully received.

I'd suggest making contact with any BMW Main dealer who should be more than happy to provide any non confidential information.

Do they detail what has been done to the car or is just a list of dates that the car was in the dealer ?

The car itself has a Service log within the iDrive. Under vehicle settings & Service or something like that.

This only lists Services so will show if the 1200 miler was done & any subsequent. It doesn't capture such things as warranty work or consumable replacements.

Just had a quick look at mine and can't see any history. My car is 2006 M6 so maybe not available on the older models ?

Didn't the service history on iDrive only come in last year together with the lack of a service book?

Sorry. Any BMW garage is able to provide dates and locations of services provided at a BMW delearship. I then called the specific delearship who then told me what was included in the service. Hope that helps
