Ladies and gentlemen, for the nth time my wife has hit a pot-hole and presented me with a rapidly deflating 225/40 R19 tyre on her RX8! I have managed to remove said wheel and tyre ( there is not much ground clearance with a flat tyre!) and will get wheel/tyre checked over and replaced as necessary. I understand RX8 spacesavers are scarce and was wondering whether there are any other wheel/tyre combinations that would do the job as an emergency get you home item?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Grumpy, I don't know if this will be of any help for you, but it's helped me in the past when looking for wheels that would be a good fit, but not necessarily for that car. See if you can find something suitable on http://www.wheelfitment.eu/ then see if you've got anyone breaking one of the alternatives near you where you could possibly try it before going ahead with purchase.

Thanks for the link, much food for thought.

Afternoon!
Yes a right pain I know.

When I am taking my RX8 any sort of distance I drop in the boot a full size spare in a case that I bought for that purpose. (as cheap as chips for a genuine second hand Mazda wheel and tyre).

Yes I know that if I travel locally, don't have it with me, and its more than the fill up cans can deal with I am shafted, but a phone call home should deal with that.

Takes up a fair bit of boot space but of course when you put on a space saver you have got to put the damaged tyre somewhere anyway.

If you do come up with a spacesaver just put the results on this thread as I would be interested to see the price anyway.

i would be interested as well. on mine i got a quick repair kit (used for bikes mostly) that hopefully will get me home. a spare would be nice though.
