Morning all

The wife's out with her girly friends tonight and the ankle-biter's with granny. Forecast is looking good so I thought i'd take the opportunity for a bit of a blat.

Has anyone got any suggestions for some good driving roads to head to? The Peaks are probably a bit far to get to and back in a couple of hours. I'm just on the north side of central Nottingham so A60 / A614 are close (although I'd like to avoid the dreaded Specs cameras on the A614).

Cheers for any suggestions

Jim

A road I quite enjoy and I usually do a variation of this when I'm going to/coming from the A1.

Starting at Bingham, (south) on Tithby Road, past Langar. Be careful of the humpback bridges. I think there are 3 of them.
Continue until you get to crossroad at Waltham on the Wolds.
Right towards Melton.
Use Woodfold Lane (single track, may be potholes to avoid but it'll miss out the town centre) to join up with B676, Saxby Road (east).
Continue through Wymondham until T-junction.
North towards Buckminster.
West through Buckminster and continue back to WOTW.
Return to Bingham the way you came (straight through crossroads).

Thanks Jayyylo - Google maps reckons that's 2 hours 13 minutes from my house so spot on!

I know the Bingham to Langar section, but I normally turn right at Langar and head through Cropwell Bishop, across the A46 and back to the A52. I've never gone straight on towards Waltham. I'll give it a go...
