Hi all,

I have a 6 year old who we are trying to persuade to practise his writing, often easier said than done.

Recently we have had a few days out to some motorsports events, two wheeled and four wheeled, I have suggested to my son that he could write to some race teams and ask for stickers and posters, etc.... He thought this was a great idea and he has already written 2 letters this evening, the problem is, I don't know who to post them to.

Does anyone have any ideas of the teams or companies who are most likely to reply? I don't want him to be disappointed and I want to encourage him to continue writing, if we get a few responses then he might keep this up for a while, which would be great.

He is fickle, as all 6 year olds are, so any type of cool looking motorsports would be fine, or any other companies in general who might reply, were a motor sports family but any company or organisation who sends a response and a little something would be a big deal for him.

Does anyone have any advice or similar experience?

Thanks in advance PH!

I'd certainly go for some things like mclaren or AP racing.
Stickers might be the main thing, but you might get lucky with some more novelty smaller stuff, a teddy with a t shirt on etc.

I've sent you a PM. If his letter is good, he might get an offer to be a copywriter. Or is child labour still illegal?

Santa Pod usually offer children stickers at various car shows, so they might be worth a try, and possibly the BTCC teams who seem more geared up for crowd friendly promotional work.

If your son likes soldiers as well as cars he can drop a letter to Mission Motorsport to blag some stickers.

Send to:

Mission Motorsport
Unit 11
W&G Estate
Challow
Wantage
Oxon
OX12 9TF

Address it to James Webley (workshop manager) and stick in a Dad's note saying I (Ben Williams) suggested it and you will get something back.

We'll happily send him some bits of old F1 car if you think that would float his boat? PM me for the address.

I'm racing in the Alfa Championship this weekend, supporting British GT - I would be happy to provide you with a couple of tickets for the weekend if you wanted to come (I see it may be a bit of a trek, but the offer is there).
