At the ripe old age of 13 years, the heater blower direction nob has snapped off. Half of it is still on the shaft and looks a bit tricky to get out. When I push the other part back in the hole, it feels quite snug. So, dare I put a little Superglue on the broken part and shove it back in? I would hope it will only grab the broken part, allowing me to pull the whole thing out. But of course it might just stick to the shaft, then I'm in trouble. Opinions please!

you can buy a brand new facia for £15, and a £10 second hand complete unit.... then take it apart and fit the new facia and nobs and have what looks like a brand new (and nearly is) unit.

This is what I did and I didn't realise how tired my old heater facia had become until I did it.

Search Ebay for escort cowsorth heater facia or the like.

Thank you. I'll look into that over the weekend.

Technically its not the Cosworth part as that's the Mk5 shape and completely different. You need Mk6 Escort with AC, or you can sometimes buy the dials separately on ebay from time to time which will save you having to strip the centre console apart from within the passenger footwell.

Hate to disagree as not sure if there is confusion or mislabelling.

This is what I bought around 3 years ago, it fits and is the correct unit and seen literally hundreds of these advertised as escort cosworth over the years... the numbers on the front denote the correct item i.e. thats its a 'B' unit.

Andy you're right that part is exactly the one for ours, but its not from a Cosworth.
