S550 Winter Tyres

I know this is crazy early to be asking, but given that 1000 RHD cars will hit the UK in Winter, has anyone given any thought to winter tyres?

I think it has to be worth it on a RWD 420 BHP motor, but I haven't done any research yet

Has anyone got any ideas / done any research?

Asked the dealer, they said:-

"Ford haven't given us any recommendations as yet but I'm sure they will do closer to the time of delivery. Until we know the speed rate and load capacity of the car we won't be able to recommend anything"

Hope they come with something other than the P-Zeros. A lot of the US owners say that they are useless unless it's proper summer weather.

I wonder if they will have Falkens that will fit. I know a few M3 boys that use them and I'm on my second set on my car and I can't fault them, hot, cold, rain or shine.

Pretty impressive, especially as they are a lot cheaper than the competition.

P zeros are standard on my track pack gt. In the snow the car is useless. lot of people switch to continental dw extreme.

Looks like Ford are recommending P Zero Nero All-Season

However they are a M&S tyre rather than a full on winter / snow tyre with the snowflake symbol which is what I would personally prefer to fit.

I'm not clear what size tyres will be fitted to the UK GT models (custom pack wheels).

As this is going to be my wife's only car, we need to get this decision right especially as we live in the sticks.

As this is going to be my wife's only car, we need to get this decision right especially as we live in the sticks.

Although we'll have an LSD and a snow/wet traction mode mine will stay in the garage when there's snow/salt/grit around. I had the front panel of a 300C stripped of paint on one journey from Dungeness to Surrey.

Instead of £ 2000 on a set of wheels and winters, what about £1500 on a perfectly serviceable Suzuki Vitara or similar. 4wd and bags of fun and your pride and joy is safe (and her car).
