Yes, I know crash dieting is not what you should do, but I need to lose a stone over a 2 week period.

I have lost 2 stone so far (since 3rd week in Jan), so my weekly weight loss is currently minimal (.5 - 1 lb a week)

I'm not doing a 'diet' as such, just cut back on crap / booze (most of the time smile).

How can I shift the extra stone pronto?

I was thinking about the sacred heart diet, which is basically soup (although you are allowed a jacket spud on day 3!)

Any ideas / thoughts?

Milkshakes, Complan specifically is good. 3 a day with nothing else. You will lose the weight, it will suck but you could do it.

Thanks, looks interesting but bloody hard with no solids!

I guess one of the challenges will be weening yourself back onto solids, just done some googling and found a diet plan for gastric band patients - Complan for 2 weeks then easing solids in from week 3. Sounds like that could be the one!

Ive just bought the exante diet.

It's shakes, soups, "meals" and bars. You have three items a day and lots of water.

Puts your body into ketosis to lose weight fast. 8 days worth cost me just £30.

I have done a similar one before (the cambridge diet) which worked brilliantly. Although admittedly I put the stone I lost almost back on but that was over 9 months and mostly due to breaking my shoulder and not being able to exercise and having a christmas blow out in those months too.

How long did it take you to lose the stone?

Complan? The stuff people drink to increase their calorie intake if they can't eat enough?

Correct, it's good as meal replacement as it has enough calories and has lots of other stuff in it too. I think it's about 275 calories per serving when made with water.

jj

About three weeks. I then Introduced food slowly. Chicken breast, veg, fruit, then carbs then ate normally (clean) didn't put any weight back on for at least two months as was exercising etc too. Then broke my shoulder and the rest is history.

I've been dieting 6 weeks slimming world, 6 weeks slimming world and bootcamps and still not losing weight. So going back to what works. Currently not exercising at all either as just had a little, procedure and I'm meant to be resting.

Why do you need to lose weight so quickly?

Right, it's the wrong choice for a dieter. It's not supposed to be a replacement but a top up if you're ill and can't finish a whole meal. You want Slimfast - similar content but has bran to make you feel full.

Your talking about doing a vlc diet (less then 600 caps a day ) however if you have medical conditions, it can be dangerous and if done incorrectly ( ie not enough protein/vitamins/minerals) then you will loose as much lean muscle mass (bad m'Kay) then fat.

Tighten this up - do it properly, count all your food input on an app (MyFitnessPal or something similar)

The cabbage soup diet.

Link thingy

If you lose this, then just Google 'cabbage soup diet'. Don't click on any links that want you to pay for owt.

I do this already, using myfatsecret. The key is the speed of weight loss I need, this approach (a very sensible approach I believe) is only giving me .5 - 1 lb a week. I do personal training 3 hours a week, but rightly or wrongly, I'm not motivated eno9ugh to increase that number.

Cabbage soup diet - that's a bit like the sacred heart diet

Have made an appointment with the Cambridge Diet consultant early next week, so will probably go for that

Why do you "need" to do this?

It's something that's recommended to people having gastric bypass/bands as a meal replacement. I think the 'full' feeling comes from the amount t of fluid rather than the contents IMO.

I think it depends on what you have it with. I had jaw surgery recently and I was given Ensure (same idea as complan) and I was ordered to keep my calorie intake high to facilitate the healing. I had it in a pint full fat milk and it was super filling, in terms of feeling and calories. Having it with water would certainly be less fattening but still quite filling.

I can't think of worse advice. The ugh has a heart condition so his dr should advise. Complain FFS. Lol too funny.

Here's a thought, 18 hr IF with a proper meal of chicken and veg etc. never drink your calories when losing weight

Nothing will make you feel as full as eating 350 g of chicken or fish with 700g of green vegetables. Total cals 600 incl a decent sauce.

Golden rule 1% body weight per week loss.
