Is there an ap that my wife and i can have on our iphones and ipads that we can update individually but shows up on everything?

We are getting in a mess with overlaps and childcare!

Ive tried the calendar ap on the phone but dont think i can link to hers!?

If you trust each other not to send emails via each others account, couldn't you just add a second account to the phone?

One way is to invite each other to everything on a calendar. Then it'll appear in both yours and your wife's calendar.

We use a shared Google calendar for this very purpose, works well on many devices.

With Google calendar you could either set up a new account that you both sync with, or there is an option to allow you to share one of your calendars with other people.

I used to use the same apple id on our devices and now use family sharing to keep a mac / ipads and iphones in sync.

I work shifts and any member of the family can add / remove calendar entries

Use it as an excuse to talk on a Sunday smile

In all seriousness, you'll still get in a mess if you can both write to the same calendar.

Been using Google calendar here for a couple of years - our daughter has read access to both our calendars and we can view hers too. I also have a seperate calendar for my step-son's contact weekends, all visible on one screen but easy to filter.

We're Android and Windows based here, but I was introduced to Google calendar sharing by an iPhone fan.

Log into icloud.com and go to calendar.

At the bottom left you will see a little gear icon (settings). Click on this and select "create new calendar". Call it Family (or whatever you like). Once it's created there is a link to share it (as a private calendar) share it with your wife and you have access to it on your iPhones and iPads etc

Another vote for google calendar, the Mrs and I both have it set so we can see each others calendars, and if we're sad enough to send each other meeting requests for things we're both doing so they're in both our calendars. The only slight issue I have with it is I also have my work calendar showing on my phone via Outlook Web App, but the Mrs can't see that so I often assume she knows about stuff that she doesn't because it's not the calendar she can see.

A nice feature here is you can get it to email you when someone makes a change...

Google calendar seems popular with some institutions as well. Our children's primary school shares one from their website, so assemblies, plays, discos etc all show up on my phone - along with term start & end dates and training days.

Take a look at the Cozi app, it's free. But better features are available if you pay for it.
It's one that i use and it's not specific to the iOS. So she would use it on her iPad/iPhone, and i use it on my Windows phone.
Although i was a bit "meh" at first, it has become very valuable.

If you're both using iPhones/iPads with an iCloud account, it's very simple.
Open Calendar app, click on Calendars at the bottom
Click the (i) and then "Share with" and add who you want. Your OH can do the same.

You can share existing calendars or add a new one to share or share many/all/none! All very easy.

IOS can be set to notify when others add entries too.

Of course you can. iCloud does this for free. Just "share" your calendar with your wife's Apple Id. Piece of piss.

Google "share my icloud calendar with another user".

If you aren't using iCloud, why not? It's the whole reason Apple kit is good: iCloud makes it all work together.
