With the plethora of BMW forums about it is difficult to quickly assess which is the most active and informative for the E36. Does anyone have any advice to offer in this regard?

I'm about to acquire a E36 328i coupé in a completely standard and unmolested state (I intend to keep it that way). It will need some fettling though so will be needing a source of good info........

I'd say e36coupe.com, that's where i frequented when i had an E36 and it was a good forum from memory.

When I had an E46, I found this forum to be populated with some real knowledgeable folks with "older BMW's" i.e your E36 generation and my E46.
There were a few that had the E36 as "project cars."

Agreed - I was on there for a pretty long time - just had a look and a lot of the old names are still there. A very knowledgeable bunch.

M3cutters is also worth a look as there's a great deal of information on there for all E36 variants, not just M3.
